All of our lives, we’ve been teaching and coaching dance. As with most coaches who retire, we’ve both looked back and considered the impact of our coaching efforts, as well as how we can help to continue to grow our artistic sport. In 2016, we noticed that there was a disconnect among coaches and other professionals in our field. Bus drivers, dentists, hair salon owners, and most other professions have a professional organization where their members go to learn, network, and celebrate. The dance team profession was missing this important piece. We needed a place that was about DANCE, not CHEER (and dance).
Once dance team professionals started talking, the roots of this organization began to grow. The NDCA is about giving dance team professionals a unique and special platform full of inspiration, connection, and support. We are all volunteers who work hard to make it happen. If you love dance team and it has impacted your life in a positive way, getting involved in the NDCA is a way for you to give back and assure that those positive impacts will be felt by future generations of dancers.
